"New" school

Tomorrow, I start my second term of university, and like last term, I am taking only one course. I am kind of curious as to how things will turn out. Will I have learned from my procrastination mistakes from last term? Will I receive a better mark than last term due to more interest (this term I am taking a drawing course and as you may know, drawing is one of my more prominent skills.)? Will the length be bearable even though it will be around 3 hours long? Will I have more time for other things in life this time around, as my course will only be on Fridays? For most of these things, I'll just have to wait and see. But for one thing, I intend to make sure that I will make better use of my time this term than last term. If I get assigned an assignment (which I will), I will work on it as soon as possible, if not sooner than later. I think that will make things so much more easier than how things were last term.

I think it will be safe to say that I will be doing some more growing this term in terms of becoming a more responsible person in general and also in terms of becoming a better artist. I think that this course will challenge me in both of these ways because from what I've heard about studio courses at university, they assign a lot of projects. This means a lot of practicing my skills as a drawer but also practicing time management.

On a side note, if things will be better this term than the last, that wouldn't be a far cry from excellent in my opinion. This is because there were many times last term that I was considering quitting the course due to the fact that thought I wasn't doing so well. But in the end, I stuck with the course and I got surprised with a whopping 'B' for my final mark on the course. So if I did well at something I wasn't enjoying (namely writing essays) when I thought I wasn't doing well, how much more am I going to succeed at a subject that I enjoy and will be using to practice good time management with? Like I said before, I'll just have to wait and see.

FLOORED!

Something amazing happened to me yesterday, and so here it is from yesterday's post from my journal:

Okay so I’m just going to say it: I AM FLOORED! But first, I’ll start from the start of this story. My sister Jessie and I got talking about how God talks to her and how having a relationship with Him is important because having a relationship with Him is the only way to get into Heaven. She asked me if I had a relationship with God and I said that I had one but it’s not as strong as it used to be. I asked her where I would start reading the Bible to get to know Him more and she said, “Don’t ask me, ask God!” and so she wanted to pray about it. So Jessie prayed for me first and then it was my turn. I basically asked “God, I need your help, I can’t do this on my own. Please show me where to start reading the Bible.” It was here that Jessie stopped me, saying, “Just listen.” After a few mere seconds, I heard God in my thoughts like I used to way back when, saying “Matthew.” So I went onto my iPhone, opened up my Bible app and like any other time I’ve opened up this app there is a “Today page” that has picked out a bible verse for the day. And the first thing I see on this today page was “Matthew 22:37-39”. HOLY CRAP! And what does it say? “And He replied to him, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (intellect). This is the great (most important, principal) and first commandment.”

So to say it again: I AM FLOORED! The reason why? I was also wondering what I had to do to start living more of a Christian life again.

"Citrus"

This is my bird Citrus, and she was a budgie. I drew these when I was attending ArtBeat.

You probably won't know this by looking at these drawings, but she was dominantly yellow and green. The shaded areas by her legs are green and most of the areas that I left white are yellow. Not for sale.

"Leopard"

This is something I made as a Grade 12 Art Project. The idea was to do something in the "pop art" style. Not For Sale.
